The short version: Use our samples in your music — commercial or not. Don't resell them as samples. Don't share the raw files. That's basically it.
When you download a sample from Sound Snacks using credits, you are granted a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use that sample in musical compositions and audio productions ("Productions"). This license is for your individual use and is non-transferable.
You may: use samples in commercial and non-commercial music productions (songs, albums, EPs, singles, remixes, beats, scores, podcasts, videos, games, advertisements, and similar works); modify, process, layer, chop, pitch-shift, time-stretch, and otherwise transform samples as part of your creative process; release and monetize Productions containing our samples on any platform (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, SoundCloud, BeatStars, etc.); register Productions containing our samples with performance rights organizations (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, etc.); and use samples in an unlimited number of Productions.
You may not: resell, redistribute, or share the raw, unmodified sample files (this includes uploading them to other sample libraries, file-sharing sites, or torrent networks); include raw samples in sample packs, construction kits, or similar products intended for other producers to use as building blocks; claim ownership of the underlying sample itself (you own your Production, not the sample); transfer, sublicense, or share your download with other producers or collaborators (each user needs their own license); or use samples in isolation as a standalone audio product (e.g., selling a ringtone that is just the unmodified sample).
If you collaborate with other producers, each collaborator who wants to use Sound Snacks samples in their own separate projects needs their own account and credits. However, a single download covers all collaborators working together on the same Production.
Attribution is not required but is always appreciated. If you'd like to credit us, "Samples by Sound Snacks" or a link to soundsnacks.co is great.
Sound Snacks does not register samples with Content ID or any automated copyright enforcement system. You should not receive copyright claims on your Productions for using our samples. If you do receive a claim that you believe is related to a Sound Snacks sample, contact us at hello@soundsnacks.co and we will help resolve it.
Some samples in the Sound Snacks library are created by third-party producers. These samples are subject to the same license terms. The submitting producer has warranted to us that they own all necessary rights to grant this license.
This license is perpetual for samples you have legitimately downloaded. If your Sound Snacks account is terminated for violation of our Terms of Service, you retain the license for samples already downloaded, but you may not download any additional samples.
Samples are provided "as is." We warrant that we have the right to license the samples to you, but we make no other warranties regarding the samples, including fitness for a particular purpose. We are not responsible for how you use samples in your Productions.
